This Monday, my Amazing Artist is not an unknown to most people. He is Michael Crichton.
I rarely read novels multiple times (I haven't really had the time/chance to read a novel more than once yet), but I am currently reading “Jurrasic Park” after having read it once already and having listened to it on CD three times. Not to mention, I have seen the movie multiple times. It has always been one of my favorites.
I do like the portrayal of some of the characters better in the movie (that's because the movie is so great!), but nothing can take away from the words and presence of Michael's character, Ian Malcolm, in this book! Reading his words is like slicing a piece of cake and putting it on your plate with a candle still burning - then letting it burn while eating the cake. Ya, that good. Nor could I hope for a more thoroughly thought-provoking introduction to lead me into his ‘fictional’ tale, than reading all of the words of Michael Crichton's novel.
A must read. Genius. Observant. Truth & fiction and daydreamer wow-factor all-in-one basket. A page-by-page creatively written tale that is a gift to the world of humanity. Thanks to Michael Crichton.
