I really had to turn things around and did! All of the songs on the album are traditional Scottish and Irish songs. The album features harpist Linda Mudd from my “Voice + Harp” duo, and guitarist Ulli Bögershausen. The soft-release of the album is on my website's homepage under the music tab. A beautiful end to Autumn. A celebratory release will follow in which the songs will be available for download, streaming, and on CD, along with added bonus tracks.

Misty Posey

Singer, Actor, Writer, Arts

What heat and yet what great people at this September, Texas festival! I'm posting videos this week on all my platforms. I'm near the end of my 2023 live performances, and a lot of the videos are performances from The Sherwood Celtic Music Festival. The absolute best people were out supporting the live music and making the day a great one.

I'm singing in 108 degree weather…that's without a breeze! But I was surrounded by the lush trees of The Sherwood Forest Faire, and I was very happy to be there.

Video, “The Misty Mountains Cold,” from “The HObbit” -

Misty Posey
MistyPoseyMusic.com
Misty Poseytag:mistyposeymusic.com,2005:Post/72660692023-08-30T22:45:27-04:002023-10-16T10:52:37-04:00Yippee...new Merch this Friday!
So excited. There will be new merch on my website, Friday morning, 8 a.m. Whoo-hoo! One is so sunny, it definitely celebrates the beauty of summer!

This year is full of my new merch and designs. Well, really, I suppose it began a few years ago when car companies began to take CD players out of new vehicles in a big money corporation attack on everyone who wanted music in their hands rather than relying on the 3rd-party money makers who have seized the music industry, putting the average independent artist into the lowest-paid wage group possible while raking in the billions for simply playing our music.

Ugh…why can't anything be simple? Oh ya…large corporation take-over.

Only a few minutes on most websites (well, the ones that know they gotcha where they want ya) is enough to drive a person insane. I have a couple of great websites that I have been working with over the last few years, and they are great! I can actually accomplish what I need to accomplish. Other sites, though, have cut off all contact - No phone, no online chat. Then WHO is running things? And HOW are we supposed to have a working relationship? Answer: you end up stuck.

Ugh…I just want to put music back on streaming! Well, by no easy means, I found some contact information on the distributor. We will see if I hear back and clear things up.

Ugh…I need an internet guru to do this part….really I'm just a music artist, a human, a person walking quite normally upon the computer-ridden Earth. Not a magician.

Pretty sure my songs won't be up super soon.

Misty Posey
MistyPoseyMusic.com
Misty Poseytag:mistyposeymusic.com,2005:Post/72556572023-08-14T23:20:00-04:002023-08-16T11:26:39-04:00Ramblings: My call to try and volunteer and my grand attempt to help the crazy mis-worded 'stay-at-home-mom' label
Today, I called a well-known charity in response to their newspaper write-up, which says they are welcoming more volunteers. I got a weird response, though. The woman was taken aback by the fact that I was an individual and not an organization, school group, work program, or someone needing community service hours. Is it that abnormal to want to help people? To want to help someone else's efforts? To find the motivation in yourself without the prompting of a group?

Then I was asked, “Oh, are you a ‘stay-at-home-mom' with spare time?” And I laughed and said, “no,” even though I was completely horrified that someone actually put all of those words together to explain someone's occupation. Really…who in the world started the insanity of the words "stay-at-home-mom?" How about we call it like it is? Come on, I'm begging everybody…it is called a “FULL-TIME MOM.” That would be your full-time job - NOT staying at home. Another natural title is “HOMEMAKER.” A homemaker's full-time job would be the workings of the family home - children or no children. I'm begging everybody, please…I can't take hearing the crazy, long, misworded “stay-at-home-mom” label any longer! Ugh…take pity on my fragile, logical mind! But even more, let's not make motherhood or fatherhood sound like an excuse or escape from employment. FULL-TIME PARENT and HOMEMAKER are normal jobs, and it has nothing to do with “STAYING AT HOME” (not working under someone else's employment)…which is what you are directly excusing when you call someone a “stay-at-home-mom.” Does a parent need an excuse to not be employed? Well, this given title implies a shortcoming and then tries to overcome it by saying, “Oh, she can stay at home instead of going into employment underneath a company." Though not intended, it really belittles the job of a full-time mom or dad. So, can we change it? Can we please get the correct meaning of a mother or father who is responsible for their children's care? Rise up, word lovers, and do protest! This AWKWARD phrase needs to meet its death, for the sake of all that is sensible in language. PLEASE, give parents and homemakers real titles, not long excuses.

Annnnd so…it looks like I will be doing a bit of volunteering to help the elderly.

And hopefully, I have helped the full-time mothers and fathers out there. You deserve your excuse-free title, and we thank you for doing the job!

(And now you won't run out of breath explaining your occupation.) Hooray!

Misty Posey
MistyPoseyMusic.com
Misty Poseytag:mistyposeymusic.com,2005:Post/72556312023-08-11T10:36:31-04:002023-08-11T12:04:28-04:00Running in the hot, Texas 100 degrees weather
I haven't had much time to run or even swim. But this week, I had to make time. So I went out at the 4:00pm hour, into temperatures well over 100 degrees. Not bad. Hot, but doable. And it is so pretty right now! Yellow leaves turning tan-brown, mixed with green leaves. Really got to make it to the beach, though.

Misty Posey
MistyPoseyMusic.com
Misty Poseytag:mistyposeymusic.com,2005:Post/72529402023-08-06T16:26:34-04:002023-08-06T16:54:31-04:00Singing in Bach Grounded concert
Just finished rehearsal with Obed Amessiah for his “Bach Grounded” organ concert in Dallas, Texas, next weekend. I had to rerecord some of the music for the upcoming ALL TRADITIONAL CELTIC SONGS album. For some of the songs, I set everything up myself to record. So, that's a bit of a learning curve. Then, we actually had technical glitches from the studios we used in Dallas…didn't see that coming! So, after my trip performing in Florida, I ended up having to fix these issues instead of leaving with a finished album in hand.

So, yes…I'm making music in the studio, writing songs, and collaborating, and I'm writing and also rehearsing for live shows…and designing. An artists' work just goes on and on.

HOPEFULLY, though, I'll get these recordings RE-finished, and I can actually get them out to everyone! It has been a year full of first tries for a lot of things - some things work and some endeavors just fell flat.

LEARNING, creating, and performing live! AND what is going well, is being back on stage. I'll be singing in Kentucky, Arkansas, and Texas in the next few months. So here I go…back to work on setting everything on a schedule before I can get back to the creativity part.

Misty Posey
MistyPoseyMusic.com
Misty Poseytag:mistyposeymusic.com,2005:Post/72429662023-07-17T01:48:06-04:002023-07-20T17:10:39-04:00Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible
Go see the new movie! It's in theaters now and definitely worth seeing.

Why do we love Tom Cruise? The running. The stunts. The character he pours into every moment! Yes?

What made me a "Mission: Impossible" fan? That would be "Mission: Impossible FALLOUT." Hands down, “FAllout” is one of the most exciting movies I have ever seen. Full of heart, this movie never stops, and Tom never stops. All the actors surrounding him are great in this movie…besides the movie itself! I own it, securely on DVD, and it is difficult to pick just one scene because you will keep watching all of the scenes that follow.

Now, back to the newest “Mission: Impossible” currently playing on the big screen. I've had a little time to see some parts of the earlier movies, and I am loving the character-plot connections. I'll probably end up watching all of this series this year….well, I guess I should see how many movies there are.

What else about the movie? Personally, I never watch movie trailers EVER. There is nothing like hearing punchlines and seeing scenes for the first time when the movie is actually happening, but I'll just say…

(and feel free to stop reading)

…that the only flaw is that the enemy definitely should have wrecked that hands-free car near the end. Just made sense, so I was waiting for it. However, I'll chalk it up to you never know what's going to happen and let it be a really good movie! It follows all of Tom's latest movies in the integrity of the film's quality, and you should definitely go see it. Well done, everyone.

Misty Posey
Amazing Artists Mondays
Misty Poseytag:mistyposeymusic.com,2005:Post/72273752023-06-19T03:00:00-04:002023-06-19T11:37:09-04:0040's & 50's swingtime sound!
While on tour in Florida, I was invited to a concert by “Swingtimers Vocal Trio,” and when their voices came together in close harmony, I was impressed. The sound on many of the songs did remind me of the “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy," which is one of the only songs I could ever say that I officially know as swingtime music, but I know the sound, all the same, and this trio's harmony had it! And the songs were great. Many of my favorites.

I had so much fun at their concert that only two days later, I went to a sock hop that featured the trio - my very first. This was with Melbourne Municipal Band. So much fun! I would suggest that everyone in Florida go to one of the Swingtimers Vocal Trio concerts or to one of their sock hops with Melbourne Municipal Band. They are really in their element - all involved really knew their stuff in this genre. A great gift for anybody miles around! Go and listen and dance and don't miss out on this group and their music.

Maybe the trio will sing the Bugle-boy song next time? (That might be a written request!)

So glad I took the time to go.

Misty Posey
MistyPoseymusic.com
Amazing Artists Mondays
Misty Poseytag:mistyposeymusic.com,2005:Post/72243652023-06-10T12:19:47-04:002023-06-10T12:26:17-04:00Singer finally makes it to the ocean!
Finally, after over a week of performances, I made it past the sand into 30 minutes of the best water I could have asked for. Carlton Fine Woods is especially impressive because his projects are so varied! From wooden sea turtles to furniture and cabinetry, you can see how solid and expert his lines are.

He is also an outdoorsman, which leads him to find ways to make products without damaging the environment, truly taking this to heart rather than looking for some large corporation selling-point. And it does not take much, when looking at the photos of his works, to see how real, how deep they are. In a world where we have all grown up seeing so much pressed and glued man-made “wood-like” items, it is amazing to look at his work and see so much solid wood. Gotta love it! You can see the sea turtles and lots of custom work on his website: https://www.carltonfinewood.com/gallery. Subtle and thought-provoking, I understood what it meant only during the credits, as I searched for the answer, recalling Buck Howard's face when saying these words, which led straight to the look on his face a couple of scenes before. What were those reactions I saw? Beautifully, as the credits rolled, I was able to figure out the character and why the movie ended as it did.

So, this Monday morning, as I wondered what Amazing Artist I would write about, I came up with this movie. And there is so much to love! First, it is rated PG and it is also not very long (about 1 ½ hours) - both very refreshing for a change. Second, so many artists made it great. (Editors, writers, director…all had to do a great job to pull off the length and story.) Who else made this movie great?

Actor, Emily Blunt - Her versatility impresses me more with every movie.
Actor, John Malkovich - “The Great Buck Howard”…right on target and, yes, so great in this film!
Actors, Colin Hanks & Tom Hanks - Perfect Father-Son combo. You want to watch them both.
Actor, Steve Zahn - Just loved…
Actor, Ricky Jay - Unobtrusively real.

I have to say that everyone working on this film must be a great artist. From Set to Wardrobe to Music to all I have already mentioned, it was a surprisingly entertaining movie without me ever giving it permission to be.

Misty Posey
MistyPoseyMusic.com
Amazing Artists Mondays
Misty Poseytag:mistyposeymusic.com,2005:Post/71547382023-02-20T06:25:00-05:002023-02-20T12:13:22-05:00Photographer Raul Rivero's photo took my breath away...
When I saw this photo by Raul Rivero on Facebook, I stopped to pay attention: https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=633079345488550&set=a.453586353437851
It is a historical photo of train tracks in the Texas winter fog, and if you look carefully, you can see the sun coming from the right, barely lighting the grasses and some leaves on the trees before it breaks through to the other side where it gently colors the rail with spots of gold. I would guess this is sunrise; the sun seems low and bright. Raul submitted it to Collin County Historical Commission. If you do not see this photo-link because it is on Facebook, perhaps Raul will post on his website: https://www.raulriverophotography.com/

Raul Rivero is this week's Amazing Artist, and I cannot help but love this photo.

Misty Posey
MistyPoseyMusic.com
Amazing Artists Mondays
Misty Poseytag:mistyposeymusic.com,2005:Post/71529572023-02-13T11:07:40-05:002023-02-13T11:07:40-05:00Impressed by John Goodman
So impressed - all in one week - by actor, John Goodman. I saw him a week ago in “10 Cloverfield Lane" and that movie was amazing in every aspect. So kudos to EVERYONE who worked on that film.

Then last night, I saw the last 30 minutes of “The Flintstones” movie, and right away I thought that John was the cartoon character Fred Flintstone come to life! What a great study on his character!

So, this week's Amazing Artist is John Goodman. You may know him, but I just learned his name, and what an artist he is! I love the time I have spent studying acting and acting in the roles I have taken on, and when I see other actors bringing those skills to life, I am glad to talk about them.

Misty Posey (movie lover, ha!)
MistyPoseyMusic.com
Amazing Artists Mondays
Misty Poseytag:mistyposeymusic.com,2005:Post/71403102023-02-06T12:00:00-05:002023-02-27T09:57:51-05:00Victor Garber - genius of subtlety
Alias is one of my favorite TV series. If you watch one episode, you want to know what happens in the next...why torture us, right?

Victor Garber plays "Jack", the father of Sydney Bristow, on Alias, and this man can draw you into the scene by being perfectly still....the twitch of a cheek or the faint tightening of the lips is all it takes! His eyes and bearing do all of the acting for him. Quite an internal feat. He is amazing.

What else have I seen him play in? A comedy..."Fraiser." I have become a fan of this show, as it's quibbling siblings make light of a sophisticated humor that I have rarely seen on other shows, and Victor Garber goes from being this serious man in "Alias" to cracking me up in "Fraiser." Love it.

Advice: Don't get into a staring contest with Victor. He will win.

Misty Posey
MistyPoseyMusic.com
Amazing Artists Mondays
Misty Poseytag:mistyposeymusic.com,2005:Post/71458272023-01-31T06:30:00-05:002023-02-01T22:49:57-05:00Monthly Fan Club Video is up
The January video went up yesterday. I now have the entire DVD collection, and I love how every season has a great artistic edge on the DVD set.

Who is my favorite actor? Hard to pick, especially with Eden Sher playing Sue Sue Heck. So who? I love Neil Flynn as Mike (I'll keep that explanation as simple as his character keeps things.) And I love Charlie McDermott as Axl! He has a style that makes the whole family believable. Every second, you believe Charlie is Axl - brother, son...a guy with his own world in his head.

But who is Nancy Donahue? Who is this adorably sweet character? Looking at a few credits, I think her name is Jen Ray. I could be wrong. I just love to see her pop up in episodes. She is a talented actress who is all-in, and her character definitely balances the show with her adorableness inside and out. You just have to love her!

Misty Posey
MistyPoseyMusic.com
Amazing Artists Mondays
Misty Poseytag:mistyposeymusic.com,2005:Post/71403062023-01-23T06:10:00-05:002023-01-23T11:12:51-05:00Reba McEntire, actor! ...and
Who knew? Maybe you knew, ha, ha...and now I know. Reba McEntire is an amazing actor! Wow, I am so impressed by her.

She is a talented singer, and she also stars in the TV comedy, "Reba." I have seen many of these episodes, and watching them, she reminds me of Lucille Ball from "I Love Lucy." (Even their red hair seems to compliment each other.)

However, I did not know Reba had any previous acting roles, until last week. I just saw her in the movie, "Tremors," and I was blown away by her natural talent on screen. She's so incredibly believable in this film, seemingly without effort. I read that this was her first role (maybe major role...not sure), but after seeing her in "Tremors," I would love to see her in more movies.

Reba was surrounded by a talented cast, including the girl who played John Hammond's granddaughter in the movie "Jurassic Park." I have never known the actor's name, but since a Jurassic Park DVD is a prize possession in my entertainment section, I put it in to watch the 2nd half of the movie and the credits - Ariana Richards! From now on, I can call her by name, which is good since I talk about her all of the time, especially the kitchen scene where her terror comes down in tears and where she makes me burst into laughter running past her brother, arms straight out in front of her, to lock the freezer! Yes...Ariana is amazing! I hope I see both her and Reba in more acting roles.

I often mention or tweet about other artists who impress me - actors, singers, writers, photographers, artists - and I'm sure to see someone who amazes me by the end of every week. So, I am going to post whatever I know about them on my blog every Monday morning. It's often a background player on a film....those small roles that are usually overlooked by general audiences, even when that small part is really the star of the scene/episode. (Subtlety is an art.) So, I may not know who they are, but if I see it and love it, I'm going to blog about it.

I'm starting this coming Monday in January, 2023! Everyone is welcome. I already know so many artists I should mention! See you Monday.

I hope it ends up being a fun endeavor for them!

I have had some great, patient fans over these last few years, and we are all ready for new music and all that I have worked toward for 2023. As an independent musician, you become every part of the business as well as the artist, and I hope that this fan club will enable me to spend a bit more time being the artist. The great thing about the fan club being directly on my website is that no percentage of what fans and supporters invest is being shared with a third party host. The fans can come straight to me and not go through one of the companies who are made to profit from support and donations.

Here we go! Jumping into 2023. God Bless!

We had funny songs and beautiful songs, and I was asked the normal question from the children..."Are you Elsa?"
Misty Poseytag:mistyposeymusic.com,2005:Post/70446052022-08-23T22:45:21-04:002022-08-23T22:45:21-04:00Broadway with Misty Posey
After a few months break from singing live, I will be back on stage singing "songs from the stage" in September. This will be part of the two month long event - "Music & Movies at Fairview Town Center" which is presented by Cafe Gecko Fairview.

There are some incredible Broadway songs that will take your heart and some funny ones. So, this is an exciting start to September.

The sound was incredible - my sound tech was Tim. This festival is so huge. There are events, pipers, music, and all things Celtic, everywhere. It stretches through Fair Park in Dallas, filling the buildings.

I have two more performances tomorrow. Here are some photos from today. Time for a bit of rest tonight.

Saturday is here, and I started this morning with a sound check at another stage at the North Texas Irish Festival. The sound was a very live room with people starting to mill around the vendor booths. Green, my favorite color, is everywhere, along with all of the intricate Celtic knot work and symbols. Here are photos of the sound check.

My first live performance of the year, and though I had never learned all of the lyrics until now, this had to be the song. Remembering family & friends and why they are important, felt like the right way to start the New Year. I also like to think to long times past, to those I've never met and what they did to get us to where we are today. It makes me honor what I have and settle and look at life a little truer, seeing perhaps what those before me would wish for me. For auld lang syne.

Here it is, my performance with Linda Mudd, from my Voice + Harp group: https://www.facebook.com/608393635/videos/650583012759985/
Misty Poseytag:mistyposeymusic.com,2005:Post/68512792021-12-25T02:22:32-05:002022-01-04T12:03:36-05:00My new lyric Video
It's Christmas Day, so we made a special lyric video for the occasion. It is my 2020 release, "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen," a creative arrangement I recorded with Michael Walker at Dreamwalker Productions. The lyric video is totally full of words all over the screen since I layered my voice over and over in the recording - lots of fun doing that for sure! Hoping this gives Christmas a boost for everyone!

I hope everyone will join us, 6pm Wales time, at @SoundRadio1031. I have only spent one day in Wales, while on a choir-tour of the UK, and I absolutely loved the beauty of the land and a couple of little shops that I visited (one where I got the freshest baked bread - yum!). So lovely getting a chance to talk to Wales.

I keep adding new performances near every week, it seems. I can hardly keep up. And the weather in Texas, where I have reserved my travels for the last 18 months, has been great for outdoor events! There are only a few performances left on my schedule this year, and I am already behind on so much more, it's a good time to start to catch up. New videos of the performances are up on my YouTube channel, and there will be a few more, also.

Had a couple of 15 min. breaks. Busy. Just so much to do. Cancellations still coming in today due to the public safety precautions set in place for the virus. Setting up my day for tomorrow, right now. Think I will take a break soon. Meeting with harpist tomorrow to work on our Voice + Harp songs. More music to dive into tonight as soon as I can get my tired head thinking straight. Okay - gotta take a break.

The best and most real tomatoes ever only come from home gardens! So, we are hoping to make this year's garden even better than last year's.

Dad and I have spent hours digging a new garden for more vegetables this year. Alas, 8:00pm came, and there wasn't enough light to see what I was doing any more. A neighbor suggested we use a gas powered tiller...something I never would have thought of, so it is nice to get suggestions....but I just can't imagine having gasoline pouring out into the air when I could spend some time and sweat shoveling by hand. Plus, I am building muscle for surfing - warmer months are on the way! Really, shoveling three or four hours without stopping is refreshing. A great day of work is what the Earth is all about! And spring will not wait. So, I will work as fast as I can to get the job done while fitting in my other work!

It has certainly been a full day - music & garden & novel.
Misty Poseytag:mistyposeymusic.com,2005:Post/62479632020-03-13T11:44:07-04:002020-03-13T11:45:48-04:00Juggling this morning!
Juggling calls, emails, messages, photos...you name it this morning! Seems like Spring is setting in. All day, there has been sweet, white sunlight, radiantly shoving away shadows and gloom. I wonder what the first day of March will be like? It is awfully windy now, but I can't see it as a front changing the weather. It is so pretty, but I must confess, I would still like to see some good snowy days before winter is officially over.

Now to paint some more before the sun goes down.
Misty Poseytag:mistyposeymusic.com,2005:Post/62215572020-02-20T12:49:01-05:002020-02-20T12:57:43-05:002 X to Florida
I started my 2020 tour in Florida. The Atlantic Ocean was cold, of course - it is February - but really, there was little time to visit the east coast beaches anyway.

I performed in Gainesville, Florida at a music festival endorsed by Mayor Lauren Poe - so it was an honor to get my music out to the mayor.

Plans to return to Florida this year are already in the works. I will be there again by year's end. Hopefully I can swing those new bookings to a warmer month and not need a wetsuit to go surfing. It shouldn't be too hard. Florida should have fairly favorable weather through October. We shall see! Fingers crossed! Ha, ha...

Started the chapter and so many unexpected things happened, I didn't stop. Okay, I did actually have lunch...sometimes that doesn't happen!

I took a little time to check on email replies for the concerts I am booking, but focus is beautifully and unpredictably on finishing this story.

- Arts, Writer, Singer, Beautiful Thinking
Misty Poseytag:mistyposeymusic.com,2005:Post/60656072020-01-07T10:05:50-05:002020-01-07T10:05:50-05:00So many things
I have taken every other day to spend holiday time with friends and family, but it is an end to the holidays, now a new year. I find if I don't take a day off, I never let my mind rest and overwork. So, it has been good to get some days off. The other days, I have been in a race to finish tour plans that are in swing for 2020.

January starts the 2nd year of my a tour with my full album complete. However, as an indie artist, I have had my hands full with work that will keep my business in good-standing. So, I hope to get more studio work coming up and more acting gigs.

I have a huge line-up of music to learn for upcoming performances - lots of classical music with band collaborations. And I have some really beautiful song collaborations with some great artists that are sure to be loved. Okay, back to fixing my schedule for the next few months!
Misty Poseytag:mistyposeymusic.com,2005:Post/60440452019-12-24T10:36:15-05:002021-06-14T18:18:33-04:00Slowing Down on Christmas Eve...just a little
Wow, I didn't go into Santa's shop with the early rising sun this morning! However, it was a late night, and I've spent the morning catching up on loads of logistics! Lots of messages to catch up with! Hope to do a bit more background vocal work for more bands coming up and to keep a steady stream of music work going. I already booked another theater gig in Texas, yesterday. More news will come on plans with my own recordings. 2020 tour is busy at work - though, I am a bit more rested today.

Ready to take a break a watch a Christmas movie!
Misty Poseytag:mistyposeymusic.com,2005:Post/60406262019-12-23T13:22:06-05:002019-12-23T13:22:06-05:00Late nights, Early Mornings
Working hard all December long! I will finish my acting roles as Santa's helper tonight, and I've got new music and touring logistics that I am working on at the same time. Got to get back to it!
Misty Poseytag:mistyposeymusic.com,2005:Post/60381862019-12-21T14:41:27-05:002019-12-21T14:41:27-05:00Booking the new year
This week, I worked on solidifying February performances 2020. It is almost done! Nearly there. I will be in Florida, Texas, and if I can fit it into the travel schedule, one new U.S. state which I have not yet performed. Not sure at this point, but I almost have it all lined up!
Misty Poseytag:mistyposeymusic.com,2005:Post/60337872019-12-19T23:55:15-05:002019-12-19T23:55:15-05:00First acting gigs in Texas

Misty Poseytag:mistyposeymusic.com,2005:Post/60225732019-12-15T20:50:45-05:002019-12-15T20:51:53-05:00A December Run...just one...
Since before Thanksgiving, I've been up at the crack of dawn and to bed late. I've managed to take a few hours in between to go to some fun Christmas events with friends & family. After overly exhausting myself, I had a couple of days off, where finally, I started to feel human again. And today, I took to a few sprints. Yes, I went running! Only once so far this December. However, jumping and skipping around, acting as an elf, I suppose I've been more up to gymnastics lately. Ho, ho, ho!
Misty Poseytag:mistyposeymusic.com,2005:Post/59972172019-12-09T01:38:25-05:002019-12-09T01:38:25-05:00Acting & Singing all the hours long
Vocal rest tomorrow! I forget how live crowds can tire out your singing and speaking voice. I felt like I was in a race all week long, getting up early, going to Santa's workshop, getting to bed late, and then ending the weekend with my music gig. I did make time to attend two other Christmas music performances this week! And that was great!

So, I can't believe I'm about to get some sleep. I am so happy to step into my first acting roles in Texas - a good side-income that will feed into my music projects. And I will be extremely happy when I am able to wrap up a few of the songs I am almost finished with.

What a merry, exhausting, lively month to celebrate and work! December, I love you.
Misty Poseytag:mistyposeymusic.com,2005:Post/59941652019-12-05T18:52:18-05:002019-12-05T18:52:18-05:00We got a little Christmas
I made some fast, fun Christmas shopping today, my Christmas With The Celts CD in a little radio sitting atop my dashboard. So merry! - some Christmas presents have found their way under the Christmas tree...and I found myself super hungry and tired at Five Guys. They are on top of Gluten Free at Five Guys, if you want to go that route. ...of course, there are the cookies I made this week. Yum!

Now, to ready myself for some planning work! Just a bit. A girl needs a little time off.
Misty Poseytag:mistyposeymusic.com,2005:Post/59890442019-12-02T18:24:43-05:002019-12-11T11:29:54-05:00November Happenings & Sleepless December Start
Bleary-eyed, I take a breath. Even though I didn't have many singing performances booked for the latter portion of 2019, booking, emailing, creating, recording, planning, collaborating, and budget-making keeps going.

What great things?

At the end of November, I was welcomed to a Texas film festival in Kilgore for the film "O Holy Knight." This film is the latest film I have acted in, and I also worked on its music. This was the last festival on the film's circuit, and next will be distribution. As a bonus, the city lit up the oil derricks as part of their Christmas festival, welcoming the season, and it was like being in a Hallmark movie - a chilly Christmasy night with the warmth of home.

Acting?

Yep! I haven't had much chance to act since releasing my first album, but since my most of my music gigs are a couple of months away, I will be live in the Dallas area, acting, as there are many Christmas attractions in Dallas! I have been making Dallas merry for days now, and I was so happy to actually get a little sleep this morning!

Okay...so there is more I am working on, too...this is just some, which my tired brain can remember at the moment. Had a great Thanksgiving! Too short! But Santa called! And very merryily we go!
Misty Poseytag:mistyposeymusic.com,2005:Post/59456302019-10-31T17:33:20-04:002019-10-31T17:33:20-04:00Happy Halloween!
'Tis the night for Candy! All morning and half of the day, yesterday, was spent planning the 2020 tour in the U.S.A. I will be in the New England states in June, and the rest, is starting to fit together. Wow, less time to make music when you are playing all of the other roles as well. So happy that I have some friends and family pitching in, here and there.

Too many things for an artist to be responsible for, and that is actually the happier part of being an indepent artist without a big music label. So, not again! - I'll make sure my subscribers don't miss me when I come to their area!

Fixing this now.
Misty Poseytag:mistyposeymusic.com,2005:Post/57652322019-05-23T10:39:11-04:002019-05-26T19:57:49-04:00Northwest Tour
It has been a gorgeous trip going to sing in Washington and Utah. I love all of the small towns and cities. So calm and nice and easy to get around in. The trees, fog, and mist are my favorite sights, of which there has been plenty. Interesting performances and people asking me to return - so hopefully I'll build on this tour.

I have to say, going to Forks, WA to see a bit of the Twilight sage, was so fun. I have a La Push sweatshirt. I saw Bella and Edward and Jake here and there. And I have a bracelet like the one Jake gave Bella - it was made by a local jewelry artist.

Relaxing a little, finally. Need sleep. There is more to do as usual.

Now to switch from Pacific Time Zone to Central Time Zone!

Misty Poseytag:mistyposeymusic.com,2005:Post/57515442019-05-11T23:19:31-04:002019-05-11T23:20:27-04:00Scottish Wedding & Festival
Such a gorgeous day at the Texas Scottish Festival and Highland Games. I doubt the weather temperature was over 70 degrees. Chilly air, grey clouds, and perfect for a Scottish wedding. So happy to sing for two people getting married. I'll be on stage again at the festival tomorrow.

Must pack for my tour north!
Misty Poseytag:mistyposeymusic.com,2005:Post/57396902019-05-02T00:45:00-04:002019-05-02T00:47:16-04:00Mastering the travel plans & oh, so excited about Seattle & Forks, WA
Working on last minute travel plans, tonight. They just go on and on...details! Pretty sure I need a travel agent. My debut album tour is going far north. I am excited to see Seattle, Washington. There are not many places that I know I want to go, and Seattle happens to be one. Tacoma, Washington will be a great destination to perform. And you know, I'm going to go to Forks...maybe see Bella and Edward there! I must confess, one of my favorite things about the Twilight saga, is all of the scenery and weather portrayed in the movie. So, I'm excited to go to Forks, WA also! Then back to perform in Utah again!

Here I go....well...really I need so sleep first!
Misty Poseytag:mistyposeymusic.com,2005:Post/57354412019-04-28T17:59:00-04:002019-04-28T17:59:00-04:00Taking time to book performances
Concerts? I love them. Nothing like singing live and meeting the excited people afterwards.

Taking time to book more live performances at fairy festivals, Renaissance festivals, Celtic festivals, Scottish festivals, Irish festivals...whew....I will get more dates and locations on my website asap.
Misty Poseytag:mistyposeymusic.com,2005:Post/57338542019-04-26T16:36:04-04:002019-04-26T16:36:04-04:00Writing New Songs
I collaborated with Max Humphrey on two songs earlier this year, one that I performed at The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens in Dallas, TX, and it was immediately requested for purchase on my next CD.

Today, I'm working with a few other instrumentals he has. I have a rough draft for a couple of melodies and lyrics. Max Humphrey and Yulia Valentine have their instumental music on ReverbNation. https://www.reverbnation.com/maxHumphrey

Coming soon....
Misty Poseytag:mistyposeymusic.com,2005:Post/57304142019-04-24T08:50:38-04:002019-04-26T13:15:08-04:00Singing at festivals
March brought fans from my previous performances at Dallas Celtic festivals. I had fans come for my most recent performance at The Sherman Celtic Festival and Games, who had heard me sing at The Texas Scottish Festival, last year. Yes, I have added this to my calendar. So get your Celtic Thunder Tickets Dallas! (I've got Celtic Woman this week.) But come out to The Texas Scottish Festival and Highland Games in Decatur, TX. The North Texas School of Irish Music will be there and many others. Get ready north Texas! I now have a few records that were printed decades ago, and I have records from new artists. So - when are my records coming? Soon! Mid-June.

Visions by Michael Photography provided some videography and sound in March. Erin Shore productions provided some sound and video through the winter. So, all of you who have wanted to hear my vocals absent of any background noise...it's coming on some new videos! I've had great volunteers, friends, and family make videos so everyone around the globe can see live performances.....sometimes in 100 degree conditions....and so many have really nice sound...some just had so many people at the events, unfortunately, we had background noise. All of my online fans are so sweet, giving undying respect for the vocals. Thank you so much! I'm happy to get that clear sound from the performance too!

Practicing this week for a performance with a north Texas string quartet on Saturday. And I just finished editing lyrics to a song which is a collaboration you will hear more about in the next months. Really happy to nail down those last lyrics. Now to work on writing vocal parts for another collaboration this morning.
Misty Poseytag:mistyposeymusic.com,2005:Post/56124222019-01-25T14:50:17-05:002019-01-25T14:50:17-05:00More on the Debut Album
My debut album is now live on CD Baby's website. Other distributors will have it up by next weekend.

Got to say, nothing like having a CD in hand. It's great being able to download songs, but my favorite albums of the week in my car stacked on an end table....makes my week! BUT since getting Loreena' Mckinnett's Winter Album and a RECORD PLAYER for Christmas gifts.....I kinda love settling at a fire with the record player. Sure to become an ENTERTAINMENT FAVORITE for me. (Sounds gorgeous, by the way!)

You should be getting a little something from me in the mail. Family and friends gave me the most amazing gifts for Christmas! I ate an entire box of Hagrid's rock cakes - Hermione Grainger improved them, I must say. And in a book from Santa, I found a great poem: "Christmas Snow" by Harriet Prescott Spofford. Love!

Happily, noticed and improved a few things about myself before last year ended! Making a few resolutions during January.

MUSIC!!! I've been lining up bookings this week - so hope to see you all in concert!

Cheers to the new year!
